The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) states that product descriptions should meet the standard U.S. meat nomenclature such as that found in "The Meat Buyers Guide" of the National Association of Meat Purveyors (NAMP), the "Institutional Meat Purchase Specifications" (IMPS) of the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), or the "Uniform Retail Meat Identification Standards" manual (URMIS).
