Thank you for reviewing the proposed changes to the Uniform Retail Meat Identification Standards (URMIS) nomenclature developed by the Beef Checkoff and the National Pork Broad, and reviewed and approved by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) and Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
Please use the space below to provide your feedback or ask any questions about the new proposed URMIS Common Names. The comment period on these names will close on Monday, March 18. At that time the URMIS planning committee will review all comments and develop responses to each. If you are not an ICMISC member, we will email you a response to your comments and attempt to adequately address any concerns you have. If you are an ICMISC member, you will receive an email containing all submitted comments and responses for review. An ICMISC membership conference call will be held on Wednesday, March 27 to review those comments, and discuss any additional comments or questions. Our goal for the conference call is to address all comments and questions to the satisfaction of ICMISC members, and hold a vote for the approval and adoption of the new Common Names as the new voluntary standard for URMIS nomenclature.
Thank you again for taking the time to provide us feedback on the new proposed URMIS Common Names..
